Mining Operations
Covers the practical aspects of mining operations, including mine planning, drilling, blasting, and material handling. Addresses equipment selection, optimization, and maintenance strategies.

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy
Focuses on the processes involved in extracting and refining minerals from ore. Covers mineral processing techniques, such as crushing, grinding, flotation, and smelting.

Prerequisites for the AfIMPP Certified Miner course:
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
Alternatively, a diploma in Mining or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
Work Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of work experience in the mining industry, preferably in a mining operations or related role.
Training and Certification:
Completion of a recognized mining training program, such as a mining induction course or a first aid certification with a minimum of (2) two years working experience.
Age and Physical Fitness:
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and physically fit to participate in the practical training and assessment components of the course.
Language Proficiency:
Candidates must have a good understanding of English, as the course will be delivered in English.
Professional Membership:
Candidates are encouraged to be members of a professional mining organization, such as the African Institution of Mining Professionals and Practitioners (AfIMPP).
